Roman Tile and Brick making Workshop
Image
Make a tile or brick for the community kiln in Highgate Wood!
Ahead of the construction of a replica Roman kiln in summer 2024, the team at Firing London's Imagination are asking the local community to help make bricks and tiles that’ll help with its construction.
This activity is suitable for people of all ages! Children are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult.
This workshop is part of a three-year project, Firing London's Imagination. Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project will restore the 1st Century CE Romano-British kiln first discovered in 1968 to Highgate Wood in its own, dedicated visitor centre. The project also aims to engage local London communities in discovering and exploring the rich Roman heritage of the city.
