Sensing a Place - hands on heritage for people living with dementia and their carers

May's theme for Dementia Action Week is: VE Day Commemorative Session

2025 marks 80 years since VE Day. We will be commemorating this special occasion through object handling with our museum and archive collections, sharing stories, and, of course, tea and cake.

Join Deborah Hedgecock - curator at Bruce Castle Museum and co-author of 'Haringey at War' - to learn about local life on the home front during WW2.

80 years on from VE Day, this talk will capture stories from wartime Haringey: including codebreakers, pioneering women, innovative wartime nurseries, and other tales of resilience amongst everyday people from across the borough.
