80 years on from VE Day, this talk will capture stories from wartime Haringey: including codebreakers, pioneering women, innovative wartime nurseries, and other tales of resilience amongst everyday people from across the borough.

Join us for the launch of our brand new exhibition, Joyce Butler: 'The National Woman's MP' - celebrating the life and work of Joyce Butler, MP for Wood Green 1955-1979. 

This exhibition has been curated in partnership with Dr Lyndsey Jenkins, Associate Professor and Tutorial Fellow in History, Mansfield College, University of Oxford as part of an AHRC funded heritage project 'The National Woman’s MP: Joyce Butler, women's rights and women's liberation from the 1950s to the 1970s’.

Starting from Northumberland Park and ending at Lansdowne Road, this walk will highlight hidden architectural details you may have missed when passing through the area and will explore the fascinating stories of the people connected with these historic places.
