East Wing restoration project

We are about to get underway with an exciting project to restore Bruce Castle’s historic East Wing.

The works will see us addressing and stabilising structural issues, making fire protection upgrades, repairing historic fabric, and improving accessibility, as well as transforming an 18th century room into a new public space for exhibitions and community use, enhancing public access to the museum’s unique and fascinating collection.

This project has been boosted with extra funding, thanks to £588,000 secured from the Museum Estate and Development (MEND) fund, provided by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sports and delivered by Arts Council England.
Unfortunately, this means that some areas of the building will not be open to the public during the works. We will be operating a reduced service at this time, with fewer exhibitions, public events and activities. If you have an enquiry about a room booking or an event, please do get in touch and we can advise you further about what is possible during this time.

The project is being delivered by Haringey Council with specialist conservation architects Rodney Melville + Partners

We will be updating this page with news about the project over the next few months. Check back soon to find out how the project is progressing.
