As part of the Haringey Feast celebrations, Collective Exchange are holding an Open Clay Day event at Bruce Castle.
During a workshop, participants will create their own ceramic bowl using press mold technique and decorate it by mark making and painting it with underglazes.
The bowls will then be fired and delivered to the Feast at Alexandra Palace to be used on the day of the event.

We're thrilled to present the opening of the Windrush 75 'The Grip' Exhibition. This in-person event will be a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich culture and history of the Windrush generation.
Focusing on ‘the grip’ – a traveller’s suitcase – this special community-led exhibition marks Windrush 75, with photographs, written word, a short film and artwork from local members of the Windrush Generation and friends.

Time to reconnect, discover and be inspired by more of Haringey’s fascinating radical and pioneering history and community heritage at the Haringey History Fair at Bruce Castle Museum & Archive.
A lot has happened since last year's Fair in May 2022. This October is a chance to get together again and touch base with your local heritage and cultural groups and organisations in Haringey.

Take a walk with tour guide Avril Nanton and explore the history of this well-known road in Stroud Green. With Avril you will discover more about pioneering trailblazer John La Rose and the George Padmore Institute, the New Beacon Bookshop, Black supplementary schools, protests by Haringey anti-apartheid group as well as local Black-led businesses. Avril will share stories about those who lived, worked or brought communities together in this street, making important contributions to the area and to Black British history in general.

Come along and hear from tour guide Avril Nanton on this free walking tour in and around the area of Bruce Castle taking in over 400 years of Tottenham’s Black history. Starting off at Bruce Castle itself, this historical tour will take in original objects and art on display in the Museum, and then guide you around Bruce Castle Park, and nearby Lancasterian Primary School, All Hallows’ Church & Graveyard, before ending at Tottenham Cemetery.

BHM 2023 is when we are Celebrating Our Sisters! Join us at Bruce Castle to celebrate our local sister in Haringey – Judith Jacob, British actor known for her roles on television in dramas and soaps, Angels and Eastenders, but also for the hit sitcom No Problem!
This year it is 40 years since No Problem! was first aired in 1983 on Channel 4, created by the Black Theatre Co-operative. Come and hear Judith's very own stories and how she has contributed to making British onscreen history, in conversation with Lady Esi.

As migrants, personal memories, especially the relationships with our ancestors, are what keep our roots and connections to our homeland alive. They are an important part of our identity as a community.
